Directive Assessment Support

An array of activities are required to achieve Directive assessment. It is a multidisciplinary exercise, typically involving engineering, QC, sales, procurement, and production.  There is a range of effort required depending on the directive and compliance level to be achieved within the directive.  We can provide assessment support which coordinates the efforts of the plant and the assessment agencies.

Directive Training

The process of PED application is complicated and can not be readily conveyed in a class room setting. Training sessions for technical and sales personnel can be arranged to provide a general understanding of the CE system and applicable directives, including the PED. A front door awareness of these issues will improve your customer response at the earliest possible stages of European business activities. We can provide the level of training necessary for your range of personnel.

Directive Review

At early stages of CE compliance, a review should be made of applicable products and directives. Current application and various requirements of assessment categories may make it more effective to limit the application and category or to follow a higher category providing for expanding coverage. In some cases, the PED may be excluded by compliance with another directive. Addressing this early eliminates redundant effort. A review may also be performed later in the PED process in order to check the adequacy of the processes. We can provide product and system reviews to ensure the most economic compliance route.

Directive Documentation

The Directives require a range of documentation to demonstrate compliance. Some documentation may only require packaging for the assessment agencies. In some cases, new documentation may be required. We can perform a range of compliance documentation services.
